Fell Foot Wood
As a naturally occurring wood, all of the facilities offered at Fell Foot Wood are in tune with and respect the local environment.
We provide for quiet "back-to-nature" camping and your own created imaginative entertainment.
We are not a campsite/holiday complex with associated facilities.

Please feel free to visit our location page for directions to the wood. We are at the South end of Lake Windermere just across the road from Fell Foot Country Park.
Local amenities
The National Trust Fell Foot Park entrance is opposite the Wood
entrance (2 mins away).
It is open till 5p.m, free entrance on foot and there is a cafe
in the boathouse alongside the lake.
Also there is a small ferry that takes you across the Lake to
Lakeside station with the steam locos

and Windermere Lake
Cruises
www.windermere-lakecruises.co.uk with another cafe and the
Lakeside Hotel for a drink. There are 3 pubs within 2 miles.
A bus service stops at the entrance (Service 6) and connects with Windermere
Railway station where there is a Booths supermarket with direct
access from the platform.
Or you can use Ulverston Railway station and buses (Service 6) from Ulverston -Windermere stop at Fell Foot park entrance.
By car Ulverston and Bowness/Windermere are 15mins away. There
is also Newby Bridge Motor Services, filling station with shop just over 1 mile away.
So although you are in the intimate atmosphere of a private and
secluded woodland you are not stuck away in the middle of
nowhere.

GROUPS
We do not permit groups of more than 5 people.
RATES are per night. All persons on site outside working hours are subject to Tentage Rates
New arrivals arrive on site 1p.m- 4.30p.m.
Monday to friday. Registration is at the woodyard sales office.
Please note that we do not take new arrivals on saturdays or sundays & bank holidays when we are closed.
Advance booking by telephone is required.
Tentage pitches to be cleared by 11.30 a.m on day of departure (11a.m on Sundays, when the woodyard is closed)
SITE ACCESS
Through woodyard between 8a.m and 11p.m . No access outside these times.
Outside working hours ( 8.30a.m – 4.30.p.m Mon-Fri, Sat 10-4) chain at entrance will be locked with combination padlock

WATER SUPPLY.
Private supply of filtered ground water.
You are advised to boil water before drinking or preferably bring your own.
Tap is situated at outside sink alongside Toilet Unit.
Please conserve water during dry periods.
There is no provision of electricity on site for campers.
WASTE DISPOSAL Please minimise waste and move bagged waste to a collection point.
CAMPFIRES ARE NOT PERMITTED
Following problems in 2009 we are not permitting any form of open fire for 2010 onwards.
DISPOSABLE BARBECUES. Please avoid heat damage by not using these directly on the ground or on surfaces that can be marked.
GENERAL
Fell Foot Wood is a working woodland and woodyard.
It does not operate as a conventional campsite and there are no showers.
There are separate ladies and gents toilets with water at an adjoining sink.
Please be mindful of the hazards if machinery is operating and keep well away.
Please keep out of the woodyard and shop area outside of opening hours to avoid security issues/potential embarrassment.
There is plenty of wildlife in the wood – Deer ,squirrels, bats, and many bird species. Please take sensible precautions and avoid overgrown bracken areas where there is likely to be ticks and do not disturb a sunning adder should you be lucky enough to find one
NOISE AND MUSIC .Please be aware that noise can easily travel across the Lake and keep sound to low levels particularly after 11p.m at night.
Background music is OK before 11p.m but no music is allowed after 11p.m.

From our gladed amphitheatre to our on site camping facilities, we are able to cater for some out of the ordinary events. Please dont hesitate to get in contact should you wish to discuss using our venue to host an event.
